It’s Yellow Piennolo Season in Napoli!

In August, around Mount Vesuvius, Napoli’s yellow Piennolo tomatoes are harvested at the height of summer and at their peak sweetness. We know for a fact that yellow Piennolo season is our tomato farmer Aniello’s favourite time of year so we had him in mind when we designed this pizza.

Sweet and delicate with the tomatoes but packing a punch with the roasted sausage and smoked provola. Just like Aniello 😂. It’s available all this month in all pizzerias so come get involved in Yellow Piennolo season and have a spritz for Aniello who’ll probably be out in the fields at that very moment.

August is the perfect time to eat Pizza Pilgrims because it’s when one of Italy’s most special ingredients comes into season.

Our limited-edition guest pizza celebrates the harvest of sweet, sun-ripened Piennolo di Vesuvio yellow tomatoes, grown in the volcanic soil around Mount Vesuvius and picked at the height of the Italian summer. Paired with spicy Italian sausage, Fior di Latte mozzarella, roasted onions and fresh basil, it’s a celebration of simple, seasonal ingredients and the farmers behind them.

Like the harvest itself, it's only here for a limited time - so if you're looking for a taste of Italian sunshine, August is the month to visit Pizza Pilgrims.
